ANCESTRY Basics Class

A "How to get Started" class.  Lots of fun learning about Ancestry even if you are not a genealogist. Bring a notebook.

Steps to getting started on your own are;

1.  Names-as much information possible

2. Dates-dates are very important.  Even if you have only have a year, searches sometime will extend around that year.

 You might want to start looking at the Census records and it is  extremely helpful to have a year because so much information can be obtained about a person on a census report.  The census report will give you names, year of births, jobs, birthplace of person and parents, and address.

This information will help you find more relatives and help with your search in birth records, death records, military records, church records, etc.

So we will be able to help you start a search in Ancestry.
