BASICS to ANCESTRY
Join us for a class on how to begin using Ancestry.com
Remember dates and names are important. Always write down your information. Make a list:
Name- first, middle, maiden and last
date of birth
date of death
parent names
place of birth- might only have state, that is fine, it is a place to start
marriage certificate
death certificate-will give parents names to the deceased
the list goes on.
Probably start your search in the Census Records which has oodles of information, like siblings, children, dates, address, country of birth of parents as well.
