Makia

Hello, my name is Makia. My job at the Genevieve Miller Hitchcock Public Library is a Library Cataloger. I have been employed at the library for five years. I have had many learning experiences along the way and continue to grow in confidence and in my work abilities. I feel that I have learned to muli-task, be a team player and become more self confident. My duties are ordering books for the library, processing the materials, and shelving. I have been crossed trained to also work the circulation desk and to do inter-library loans. I enjoy interacting with the patrons about book titles not only for the library but for our book club, too. The Annual Summer Reading Program for our young patrons provides creativity and reading skills. This program lasts for six weeks and it is wonderful to be able to help so many young people. At the end of the day, the people that come to our library, make the library a neat place to work.
