Tuesday, June 7 - 2:00pm - Our summer programming begins with "Where The Wild Things Go" presented by Imagination Station.  Mick Carley will demonstrate how to use magic puppets and tell stories to show children how to use their imagination while exploring the wild worlds of ecology, nature and recycling.

Wednesday, June 8 - 2:00pm - We will read "Where the Wild Things Are" and meet one of the wild thing puppets.  We will read some more and do a short craft activity.  For ages 3-7 year olds!

Thursday, June 9 - 2:00pm - Enjoy the magnificent magic of Julian Franklin's wild magic show!  He is a first class magician that the children will love!

Friday, June 10 - 2:00pm - Craft Day - registration required.  We will conclude the wild thing week by making a "Wild Thing" mask.

Tuesday, June 14 - 2:00pm - Mary Vargas will present a program pertaining to endangered animals and what we can do to protect them.  The program includes hands on items, as well as a slide presentation.

Wednesday, June 15 - 2:00pm - Irma Hite of Galveston will present a fabulous puppet show called "Dragon Tales".  Her beautiful puppets will delight children of all ages.

Thursday, June 16 - 2:00pm - The library will show the delightful, wild motion picture called "The Wild Thornberries".  Children will love this first rate movie.

Friday, June 17 - 2:00pm - Craft Day - Registration Required.  We all love the book "Rainbow Fish" and today we'll go wild with color and get to make our very own.

Tuesday, June 21 - 2:00pm - Wild Dress-up Day - Registration required.  Who will have the wildest hair and clothing today?  Dress up in your craziest and most wild clothes!  See how wild you can make your hair look!  Every entry will be judged and ribbons will be awarded by our panel of Judges!

Wednesday, June 22 - 2:00pm - Mad Science of Houston will present a great fun-filled program that will demonstrate the wild and crazy things that can be done with science!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thursday, June 23 - 2:00pm - Incredible Characters presents "Return to Where the Wild Things Are."  Our friend Max is now grown up and will be here to take us to wonderful magical places.  This show combines magic and comedy!  A must see!

Friday, June 24 - 2:00pm - Craft Day - Registration Required - Miss Sherry will teach us how to paint Texas wildflowers!

Tuesday, June 28 - 2:00pm - The Texas Museum presents THE TRAVELING SEA CHEST PROGRAM.  This hands on program will teach children the wonders of the sea around us.

Wednesday, June 29 - 2:00pm - Magician Steve Burton will present "The Magic of Reading."  His show includes tricks, live animals and audience participation.  Join the fun!

Thursday, June 30 - 2:00pm - Game Day Fun - We will play "Clean Your Room" and "Tie the String".  Fun for everyone!

Friday, July 1 - 2:00pm - Craft Day - Registration Required - We will paint and glue craft sticks to make an American Flag for the 4th of July. 

Wednesday, July 6 - 2:00pm - Meet Cowboy Bob and watch in amazement as he performs Wild West Rope Tricks.

Friday, July 8 - 2:00pm - Craft Day - To be announced.

Tuesday, July 12 - 2:00pm - Elizabeth Hutto of the Salt Grass Program will tell us about Meat Eating Plants.

Wednesday, July 13 - 2:00pm - The one and only Ronald McDonald will be here today.  For all ages!

Thursday, July 14 - 2:00pm - Craft Day - Registration Required - We will make picture frames with your own picture in them to remember the 2005 Summer Reading Program.

Friday, July 15 - This is the last day to report on books!

Friday, July 15 - 2:00pm - The Incredible Singing Zoologist Lucas Miller, described as Robin Williams and Dr. Doolittle rolled into one, will teach us about butterflies, wetlands and animal defenses and other nature related topics.  The Texas Commission on Arts support his work!

Saturday, July 23 - 11:00 - Party In the Park - Everyone who has read at least 10 books will be invited to the party!  There will be hot dogs, with all the trimmings and special entertainment for all of our summer readers.  Bring your family and something to sit on and meet us in The Gordon and Ursula Latimer Park beside the library.  Claude Sims will delight us with a juggling show while we eat!  You will receive all your certificates and other special rewards you have earned!
