Allen, with the 19th Living History Association, 1st Texas Infantry,  will be back teaching about the Civil War.  For those who did not get to come to last years history lesson, Allen will again come in period dress.  He will talk about the type of clothing worn during the war, why metal was nailed to the boot heels and why boots worn back then were not made to fit the left foot or right foot specifically.  What type of foods were in the backpacks and how men carried water canteens, to hats and the type of ammunition used.

Weather permitting, the tent will be set up outside the library and like last year, you will get to see how a camp site was used for sleeping as well as cooking.  Come with questions in tow, Allen will surely answer them.
